Have you always wanted a Border Collie but didn’t think you would find one on a rescue site? Blue is not a pure-bred Border Collie, but you wouldn’t know it by looking at her or watching her behavior. She is gorgeous with piercing blue eyes and a silky white and black coat. At a year-old Blue still has all her puppy-ness! She plays with her doggie mates and she herds the small puppies in our care. She loves her long walks in the desert snooping around the cactus’. Swimming is one of her favorite pastimes and it is so good for her. We are working on an exercise routine that is both active enough to keep her satisfied and calm enough to keep her hips healthy. Blue has hip dysplasia that was discovered last August when she was 5 months old. We have her on glucosamine supplements and swim therapy to keep her cartilage healthy. The great news is that it seems to be working! Her x-rays show no signs of deterioration. It is possible that Blue might require surgery in her future but right now she is pain-free and ready to join her new family. With the right care, she can live a long, happy, and pain-free life. Full medical records will be shared and we are happy to have our Veterinarian discuss Blue’s condition with interested families.
All dogs are spayed/neutered prior to adoption
